Isabelle Peters is a British soprano celebrated for her radiant tone, expressive stagecraft, and remarkable versatility across opera, recital, and concert platforms. A former English National Opera Harewood Artist and Welsh National Opera Associate Artist, she trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Northern College of Music.

This season, Isabelle’s performance as Marzelline in Garsington Opera’s Fidelio drew particular praise, with London Unattached describing her as “light and charming, with a honeyed lyrical vocal tone,” a portrayal that brought warmth, clarity, and lyrical freshness to the role. She also appeared as Adina in L’Elisir d’amore for Garsington’s Opera First series, further showcasing her graceful bel canto style and sparkling stage presence.

With English National Opera, Isabelle’s performance as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance was widely admired- review coverage described her as giving the role “the vocal allure of a true bel canto specialist”, and her singing of Poor Wand’ring One was highlighted as a joyful, expressive highlight of the production by The Standard. For ENO she has recently appeared as Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Governess (The Turn of the Screw, Cover), Daughter 2 (Akhnaten), Barena (Jenůfa), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), and Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard.

Other notable credits include Sigismondo (Arminio, Royal Opera House), Nannetta (Falstaff, Opera North), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte, Nevill Holt), Esmeralda (The Bartered Bride, Garsington), Zerlina (Don Giovanni, WNO), Jano (Jenůfa, WNO), Nadine (Migrations, WNO), and Dido in Errollyn Wallen’s Dido’s Ghost with the Dunedin Consort at the Barbican. Isabelle returns to the Royal Ballet & Opera later this season to sing the Governess in Britten's The Turn of the Screw.

Isabelle made her BBC Proms debut with ENO in their ‘Orrible Opera concerts and is a sought-after recitalist and concert soloist. She has performed with ensembles and artists including Chineke! Orchestra, Malcolm Martineau, Sholto Kynoch, and Dylan Perez, appearing in venues such as the Royal Opera House Crush Room, BBC Hoddinott Hall, and the Oxford International Song Festival.

In addition to her performance career, Isabelle is the founder of the early-music collective The Desiderata Consort, which looks forward to European concerts and a residency with ACCR Odysée at the Abbaye aux Dames, Saintes, next year. She was named a Classic FM “30 Under 30 Rising Star”, and is a finalist in both the Voice of Black Opera Competition and the ROSL Annual Music Competition.
